THE IDEA IS SIMPLE
A clear walkthrough can do the work of a long message. Capture the steps, tidy up the pauses, and give people a video they can come back to.
BMT / Screen Recorder
Choose BMT to record your screen with an optional camera bubble, remove pauses, generate private English transcripts, and share through links, unbranded embeds, or MP4 files. It’s free during early access. If Loom already fits your routine, or your organization depends on its existing setup, there’s no need to move everything. Try BMT on your next video and judge the result.
Switching tools should make your next recording easier. Before moving a library or asking your team to change habits, look at what happens between pressing record and sending the finished video.

Long pauses can make a short explanation feel longer. BMT lets you review detected pauses and choose which ones to skip in shared playback or remove from an edited MP4.
A support reply, an onboarding page, and a downloaded file need different delivery options. BMT gives you shareable links, unbranded website embeds, and MP4 exports. Standalone share pages display BMT branding.
BMT is free during early access, with up to 35 active videos and ten minutes per video. This is an early-access offer, not a promise of permanent free access to every feature. See the planned tiers.
Capture the context, tighten the pacing, and choose how to share the result.
Record a screen, window, or tab with microphone narration. Add an optional camera bubble when you want your message to feel more personal. You choose what to show; your viewer gets the context.
Review detected pauses before deciding what to skip. Your shared link and embedded player can skip those selections, and an edited MP4 export can remove them from the file itself. Edited exports currently support videos up to ten minutes and 250 MB.
Generate an English transcript for your own reference, then download the transcript or caption file. Transcripts are private to the owner; they aren’t a promise of public, searchable video pages or automatic translation.
Send a link for a quick handoff. Use an unbranded embed inside your website. Download an MP4 when you need a file to use elsewhere. Your standalone BMT share page still displays BMT branding.
Replace a published video while keeping its share URL and embed code. Preview and restore an earlier source when you need to bring a previous recording back. Viewers see the replacement when they open or refresh the page; downloaded copies stay as they were.
Replacement and restoration are available during early access and belong to the planned Solo and Team tiers.
Add private placement notes to remember where you shared a recording. You maintain the list yourself, so it’s a useful reference for your next update rather than an automated link-tracking promise.
If you’re happy with your current recordings, sharing routine, and plan, keeping Loom is a reasonable choice. A different tool only earns its place when it helps with something you actually need to do.
The same goes for a team with an established company setup. BMT is in early access and currently requires a manual extension installation in desktop Chrome. If that setup doesn’t suit your organization, keep your existing workflow.
Start with one new video. Create your account, then follow the download page to install the extension in desktop Chrome 140 or newer. You’ll download and unzip the extension, enable Developer mode, and load the folder once.
Open the extension and choose Connect to BMT. The installation guide walks you through connecting your account and making your first recording. Keep the recorder window open until the upload finishes.
Leave your existing Loom links where they are while you try the workflow. There’s no automated Loom importer or contract buyout included. Check the early-access allowance and planned pricing before deciding how much of your work to move.
Hit record.
Walk them
through it.
BMT / IN PRACTICE
Your screen. Your voice. A clearer explanation. This short excerpt from an earlier BMT demo shows a screen recording in progress. The interface has since changed; current setup uses Connect to BMT.
Choose what to capture, explain the steps, then refine and share the finished video.
Common questions.
Yes, during early access. Your current allowance is up to 35 active videos and ten minutes per video. Replacement and restoration are available now during early access and are listed under the planned Solo and Team tiers. See planned pricing.
A BMT account and desktop Chrome 140 or newer. The extension currently requires a one-time manual installation: download the ZIP, unzip it, enable Developer mode in Chrome’s extensions page, and load the folder. Then choose Connect to BMT. Keep the recorder open until uploading finishes.
Yes. Review detected pauses and select which ones to skip in shared links and embeds. You can also export an edited MP4 that removes the selected pauses. Edited exports currently support videos up to ten minutes and 250 MB.
Website embeds have no BMT branding; standalone share pages display BMT branding. A video set to Anyone with the link can be watched without a viewer account. English transcripts and caption downloads are private to the video owner.
There’s no automated Loom importer. Start with a new recording while leaving your existing Loom links in place. BMT also accepts MP4 and WebM uploads, subject to your account’s allowance and upload limits. Uploading a file doesn’t transfer its old URL, comments, or folder structure.
